The Condenser, a narrator model aims to untangle and disrupt the meta-narratives of the 20th Feminist Night March. As its name suggests, The Condenser intensifies actions, sounds, movement, inactivity, humans, non-humans, and affects within the site of protest. Here, the complexity and multi-layeredness of what Donna Haraway refers to as the ‘thick present’ are not seen as a characteristic to be flattened or suppressed, but rather peculiarities to narrate.
The Condenser tackles the micro and macro dynamics of the March by employing protesters’ resilient shape-shifting methods. Drawn upon an eight-minute audio recording from the event, The Condenser distorts the spatial and temporal dimensions of this event through affective intensities. By doing so, it provokes the meta-narratives that are assigned to the protest; thus a discrete ground is established for unexpected interpretations.
